Senior Consultant – Financial accounting & reporting


We are looking for a colleague who will strengthen our team of Financial Accounting Advisory Services. Our FAAS professionals are key business advisors to the CFOs, Controllers and Treasurers of companies. As part of our team you will assist our clients to address the finance agenda related challenges facing their business.

We provide advisory services encompassing:

  • Accounting excellence and regulatory support on accounting change in IFRS (conversions, new standards implementation) and Czech Accounting Legislation
  • Financial consolidation
  • Transactional accounting
  • Management reporting: closing process, dashboards, cash flow analysis, cost accounting
  • Short term assignments to finance functions – accounting specialist, compliance specialist, consolidation specialist, controller etc.
  • Audit readiness and audit remediation
  • Finance function strategic transformation
  • Accounting, reporting and controlling process design and information systems implementation
  • Finance process optimization and automation incl. Robotics Process Automation
  • Data analytics and visualization
  • Corporate treasury services, including organizational and operations decision supports or treasury management systems implementation

Your job responsibilities - specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Consulting clients on complex and technical accounting issues
  • Cooperation IFRS conversion projects delivery and deliverables preparation tailored to client needs
  • Cooperation on consolidation projects for our clients (under Czech GAAP or IFRS)
  • Assess the requirements of accounting standards, the corresponding change impact and implementation considerations for clients
  • Engage and establish relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels, consistently deliver quality work products and client services
  • Leading a small team of junior consultants and promoting an innovative and team-oriented work environment
  • Maintain cooperative relationships and foster mutual support with other EY service line teams
  • Applying of all analytical, technical and interpersonal skills
  • Attending training programs to continually develop skills

Our requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in financial reporting
  • Financial consolidation experience (preferably IFRS, not mandatory)
  • Good Czech GAAP/IFRS knowledge and willingness to continuously keep your knowledge up to date with the new evolvements
  • ACCA qualification (or in progress) ideal
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Access)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment and willingness to operate in a variety of sectors
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Basic project management skills
  • Good communication skills both in Czech/Slovak and English

What would be an advantage / nice to have:

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP and Consolidation SW
  • External or internal audit experience
  • Management accounting experience
  • Ability to identify business opportunities – entrepreneurial approach to business, commercially and strategically driven
  • Willingness to work with new technologies
