Consultant – Projects in public sector across EU

Ernst & Young’s Strategy and Transactions practice is one of the firm’s four service lines and offers clients the capability and expertise to advise on any aspect of a transaction. This includes buy-side and sell-side work, covering corporate finance, due diligence, restructuring, valuation, financial modelling, M&A, infrastructure advisory, equity & debt advisory and other transaction related services.
Currently, we are seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to help us grow our Public sector across EU. This role is quite complex, where 50 % of work is dedicated to project management and 50 % of work is related to administration and documentation.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage cross-country and regional projects for public sector clients (EU Commission and connected entities, EASME, EIB, DG Reform, etc.). Projects typically focus on the following areas:
- Social innovation in EU member states;
- Development, deployment and evaluation of financial instruments across the EU (e.g. social impact bonds);
- Feasibility studies; Market research (e.g. identification of market gaps and solutions to address them).
- Lead delivery of projects, including defining the scope of work and preparing the project budget, communicating with the parties involved, and driving project to completion.
- Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
- Accurately document the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope.
- Coordinating the proposals and tracking the progress of the projects.
- Mapping the projects.
We require:
- University degree (preferably in economics or politics)
- 2 – 4 years of experience related to public sector, EU commission, EIB, EBRD and/or other similar entities, experience from consulting is a huge advantage
- At least basic knowledge of how EU Commission, EIB, EBRD and other similar international entities operate and what they require (preparation of complex reports, project management and communication)
- Strong communication skills in English and Czech/Slovak, French language is an advantage
- Detail oriented person
- Strong client focus
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
